Art video of the day. Alexander McQueen & Damien Hirst Scarf Collaboration| A Film by Sølve Sundsbø.


In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the skull scarf, Alexander McQueen presents an exclusive collaboration with Damien Hirst.
The iconic skull scarf has been a signature accessory of the house first seen in the 2003 Irere collection. 

The Damien Hirst and Alexander McQueen scarf collection consists of 30 one-off designs. Each is adapted from Hirst's Entomology series -- butterflies, bugs, spiders and other insects have been worked to form kaleidoscopic geometric shapes, laid out to create the signature McQueen skull motif. The collaboration seamlessly plays on the shared aesthetic vision of Hirst and McQueen, in which an interest in symmetrical design is combined with strong references to the natural world.

The collection offers 30 unique designs exclusively available from Alexander McQueen boutiques and online at from Friday 15th November

Smart stuff of the day. Design studio Upwell hacks IKEA...


Independent design studio Upwell, goes undercover to test the validity of their new product by using IKEA as their testing ground.

IKEA is a perfect retail research lab. They have an ideal demographic and amazing consumer exposure for Upwells new product, Walhub. Upwell created IKEA-esque visuals like product tags and UPC bar-codes as to not bias the experiment, and even went so far as to dress as an IKEA employee in order to install Walhub without raising too much suspicion... They set up mics and cameras to record the experience and more importantly the consumer feedback....

Animation of the day. SOUR "Life is Music" (Official Music Video).

SOUR's new song 'Life is Music' sings about the circle of life, and how music is its rhythm maker. We took this concept, and came up with an idea to use the spinning CD disc as a Phenakistoscope. We created the entire animated music video using 189 spinning CDs. These CDs used in the video are sold on as numbered limited edition art discs, so the fans can own a piece of the music video.
